Carolina Feijao

Prior to joining On Purpose, Carolina worked for five years in science policy, most recently as a Senior Policy Advisor at the Royal Academy of Engineering, advising the UK government on research and innovation, with a focus on infrastructure for emerging technologies. Earlier, at RAND Europe, Carolina delivered projects for clients including the UK government and the European Commission, leading complex, multidisciplinary workstreams and applying systems thinking, foresight methodologies, and a mix of qualitative and quantitative research to inform evidence-based policy.

Before moving into policy, Carolina worked in scientific publishing, leading the launch of a portfolio of three sustainability journals for Frontiers. This involved shaping business strategy, driving content acquisition, and building and managing a team. It also included establishing a global network of academics and policymakers, promoting the portfolio internationally, and tracking impact.

Carolina brings experience in starting and growing new initiatives, managing teams, and delivering projects that address complex challenges. With strengths in strategic leadership, analytical thinking, and creative problem-solving, Carolina aims to apply this experience to support purpose-driven organisations in advancing sustainable and equitable social and environmental outcomes.

Carolina holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge, an MSc in Quantitative Biology from Imperial College London, and a BSc in Cellular Biology & Biotechnology from the University of Lisbon.
