Fiona Barry

Fiona Barry

Fiona has had a long and varied career in the private sector, working as an investigative journalist examining the pharmaceutical industry before rising to editor-in-chief of several publications and director of a research and analysis division of a public company. In her most recent role before On Purpose, she led a team identifying pharma industry trends and helping to address large challenges, such as supply chains for critical drugs, through journalism, consulting, and data gathering and analysis. She is a frequent expert speaker and chair at healthcare industry events around the world.

Fiona joined On Purpose as she felt a moral pull to apply her skills to tackling urgent causes. She volunteers with children- and education-focused charities.

Fiona holds a BA in English and Philosophy and an MA in English, both from the University of Bristol, and continues to love literature and theatre. She is also a comedy writer and performer, who regularly performs live improv shows. Once you've walked onstage with no idea what you're going to say, work projects feel a lot less intimidating! When not in London with On Purpose, Fiona lives in Glasgow and enjoys hiking, walking her dog with a podcast on, and visiting (or performing at) the Edinburgh Fringe.
