Neil Shah

Prior to joining On Purpose in April 2024, Neil's professional experience was in the financial services industry, most recently on the Debt Syndicate desk at Citigroup in London where he was responsible for raising funds for public sector institutions globally. His role involved providing strategic advice to sophisticated borrowers in global bond markets, and executing benchmark transactions by aligning institutional investor appetite with client needs to raise capital. Outside of work, Neil volunteers with Target Oxbridge, mentoring pupils applying to economics based courses at university. He recently participated in the Social Impact Leadership Programme with Yunus & Youth, working with a social entrepreneur to pinpoint challenges and devise strategic solutions as they scaled their business in Uganda. Neil was also an ambassador at the One Young World Summit in Belfast in 2023, a forum for young leaders. Through On Purpose, Neil is excited to engage with a community of like-minded people and to follow his curiosity in a learning environment. In particular, he is interested in levelling the playing field when it comes to access to opportunity and the role of business in driving social and environmental progress. Neil holds an Economics degree from the University of Cambridge. After graduating, he spent half a year travelling around Asia & New Zealand, including hiking to Everest Base Camp. Along with travelling, Neil enjoys playing rugby & cricket, going for long walks and generally spending time outside.
