Toby Ejsmond-Frey

I was born and raised in South West London and have spent most of my life living in various parts of the city, apart from a couple of years living and working in Buenos Aires and Auckland!

I started out in media and advertising after university but took a gamble and started a brewery in 2017 having just moved back to London.

Through our taproom, events and messaging, our goal was to promote socialising as a force for good health and wellbeing, which was extremely relevant during the pandemic. We created a space which championed friendship in all its forms and was a hub for local organisations and groups. We worked with, and provided space for local charities including an educational charity for women and girls (The Baytree Centre) and supporting isolated or lonely older people in Southwark (LinkAge); where I still volunteer as a gardener!

The work we did with and for our partner charities was some of the most fulfilling and rewarding that I experienced whilst running the business. It gave me a taste of what a more purposeful career could feel like.

I spend my free time outside as much as possible through sports, live music, travel and hiking.
