Helen Drury

Helen is the Founder of Mathematics Mastery, a national youth education charity focusing on math achievement. Fascinated by how we learn, and passionate about the power education has to transform lives, Helen, on graduating, trained to teach mathematics. Alongside her teaching she immersed herself in research, and on completion of her PhD she became Head of Mathematics for an Academy in Hackney. The Future Leaders programme equipped her with leadership training and coaching, and gave her the opportunity to experience senior leadership in one of the nation’s highest performing schools. Helen has a deep understanding of the theory and practice of mathematics teaching and whilst leading primary and secondary maths for the Ark schools network, she founded Mathematics Mastery in 2012. The organisation works in partnership with schools across the UK to develop teachers and design classroom resources.
