Kate Watson
Kate is a Fellow of the Associate Programme, having been part of the October 2015 cohort in London, and joined the core team in January 2018.
Before joining On Purpose as an Associate, Kate worked in trade publishing, latterly at Penguin Books. Here she managed media campaigns across three publishing lists and self-directed a specialism in books focusing on social issues. Projects included work with Professor Lord Richard Layard of the LSE to campaign for parity of esteem between mental and physical health, using an economic argument to achieve political change.
As an Associate Kate was placed with Clarity & The Soap Co., launching a new brand and establishing B2B and B2C sales channels, and with Chainchecker, working with an angel investor with an interest in the Modern Slavery Act to help UK businesses take action on supply chain transparency.
Kate worked with Hubbub, an environmental social enterprise, for a year after finishing the Associate Programme, as a Project Lead, focusing on single-use coffee cups and plastics, before joining the On Purpose core team.
As a Co-Lead of the Associate Programme in London she leads on partnerships with organisations across the social and environmental impact space, and on recruitment of Associates, matching them to deliver impactful work through the Associate Programme.
