Paul Perkins
Paul is CEO of The Winch, a youth education charity supporting children in Camden from cradle to career. Paul trained as a youth & community worker while working at a youth and community centre and a church for three years. Moving to Camden he worked as a youth work coordinator, setting up a range of programmes supporting young people, gang-involved young men and young vulnerable women. For the last 8 years he has led a long-standing children’s charity, The Winchester Project. During this time the charity has undergone significant and sustained growth as it has moved from a small community-based organisation of around £280k per annum, to a local charity with a cradle to career model and staff team of around 30 people, with a turnover of £800-900k. Paul has led this change against a backdrop of reducing statutory funding and increased local need. He and his team have also developed a number of innovative projects including Promise Work, ResultsMark Digital and North Camden Zone, addressing the wider systems change needed to ensure young people and children are better supported.
