Ricardo Santana

Ricardo is a telecommunications engineer specialized in public policy and social innovation. He spent his last 4 years as a managing director for different offices in the public sector, specifically for the Caracas local government in Venezuela, developing innovative strategies to modernize and automate services and procedures both internally and for the citizens. In his early career he worked as a telecom network designer for the biggest Venezuelan ISP and as a sales support engineer for an US optical fiber manufacturer, based in the UK. He has been part-time professor on telecommunications and electrical engineering in the two most prestigious Venezuelan universities for more than 4 years. Ricardo holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering specialized in telecommunications from Central University of Venezuela, a II Level Specializing Master in Optical Communications and Photonics Technologies from Polytechnic University of Turin and a joint Master program in Strategies and Technologies for Development from Polytechnic University of Madrid and Complutense University of Madrid.
