“I am dedicated to driving social impact at scale through supporting sustainability in big businesses.”
Sarah Teacher
As an Associate Sarah has worked with Ben & Jerry’s on their Supporting Better Dairy Campaign, and is currently at Internews Europe, designing their major donor fundraising strategy. She is seeking to develop her career in big business sustainability, and is particularly interested in cross-sector partnerships, supply chain transformation and the role of responsible business in the developing world.
Sarah joined On Purpose from the African Innovation Prize, an organisation she co-founded that works to stimulate student entrepreneurship in African universities, currently active in Sierra Leone and Rwanda. Prior to her work in enterprise development, she was Director for Next Generation Philanthropy at the Institute for Philanthropy, organising workshops in the UK, US, Rwanda, China and Turkey for philanthropists interested in becoming more effective in their giving.
She graduated from Lady Margaret Hall College, Oxford, in 2005 with a first-class degree in Modern History, and obtained her MPhil in Development Studies from Clare College, Cambridge in 2011. She is a trustee of Avonbrook Projects Abroad, a charitable trust making grants to education projects in Africa; and an active participant in the MakeSense network in London, working on monthly problem-solving sessions for social businesses.
