Abigail Ryan
Abigail's background is in the voluntary and community sector. She has worked across business and programme development in children's charities and in grant making at the Big Lottery Fund; in a variety of roles spanning policy, strategy, funding programmes and relationship management. Abigail is passionate about tackling the root causes of complex social issues in a sustainable way. She's driven by a commitment to develop a deep understanding of issues, generate actionable insight and design ways of doing better or develop new ideas and collaborations for social change. As an experienced grant maker Abigail has built and managed relationships across the public, voluntary and community sectors to maximise impact. From working with small local groups to making multi million pound relationships with national grant holders more strategic and effective. She has effectively identified and supported promising initiatives for social impact, particularly those driving transformative change around systemic issues - assessing funding proposals and managing complex grants up to £3.6m.
