Host an Associate

Access exceptional purpose-driven talent

At On Purpose, we match organisations with exceptional mid-career professionals looking to use their experience and skills to drive social and environmental change. Associates bring the fresh perspectives, strategic capability and strong motivation to make an immediate difference.

Through our year-long Associate Programme, you’ll host two participants (Associates) for six months each. Associates take on a wide range of work - from driving purpose-led projects and tackling strategic challenges to building new initiatives and scaling your organisation’s impact.

Throughout their placements, Associates take part in our sector-leading Learning & Development programme, including weekly training, mentoring and coaching. This means your organisation benefits from experienced, highly motivated talent while helping develop the next generation of purpose-driven leaders.

Why organisations choose us

Associates bring structured thinking, fresh perspectives and practical delivery to help teams navigate complexity, prioritise effectively and keep important work moving forward.

Who we work with

We work with a range of organisations including charities, social enterprises, foundations, public sector organisations, consultancies, impact investors and purpose-led businesses working on some of society's most pressing social and environmental challenges. What we look for in a placement:

  • Combine commercial ways of working with social and/or environmental impact

We are less concerned with the type of organisation and focus more on the type of work and impact that Associates will deliver on their placement.
  • Appropriate level of challenge

Associates are bright, generalist problem-solvers that bring an average of 7-10 years work experience. We seek organisations that can provide projects with a level of challenge that befits this expertise.
  • Adds real value to your organisation

Our programme prepares Associates to lead in purpose-driven organisations and we look for placements where the work adds real value to the organisation.
