CAST

CAST works with grant makers, investors and mission-driven organisations to drive social change using technology. We work closely with nonprofits, investors, commissioners and startups to build sustainable, scalable tech for good and are tackling one of the most pressing needs in the social sector today: the effective use of digital to transform service delivery. Catherine, our On Purpose Associate, will be predominantly leading the delivery of our Fuse programme - the world’s first dedicated accelerator for social sector organisations. The three-month intensive programme helps nonprofits including Oxfam, Breast Cancer Care, Age UK and Centrepoint test and develop new digital services and products. The approach merges the fast-paced development of lean and agile start-ups with the scale, networks and reputation of established social organisations. It supports the wider digital transformation of nonprofits by ensuring the new solutions are integrated with their organisational strategies and plans. As well as practical hands-on guidance, it aims to improve charities’ understanding of principles like open source and open data, which help extend the reach and positive impact of technology by orders of magnitude. Without this support, the social sector risks becoming increasingly detached from its beneficiaries and donors, while missing opportunities to drive down costs and improve services.
