Astrid Kitchen
Prior to joining On Purpose, Astrid began her career in documentary filmmaking before moving to a tech-for-good start-up that aimed to create an online marketplace connecting charities, social enterprises, and companies with CSR funds. There, she served as the first point of contact for users, led blog and marketing content creation, and project managed a CSR grant scheme in partnership with a major health insurance company.
She then transitioned into the market research industry, working at boutique agencies known for their cultural insight work. Over five years, she led projects for global brands including adidas, Adobe, and Nespresso, developing skills in stakeholder management, diverse audience engagement, complex project delivery and insight storytelling. Following this, she moved into a dedicated commercial role where she spent a year focused on business development –writing proposals, activating new client leads and enhancing internal strategies to improve efficiency and commercial effectiveness.
Astrid has joined the DEI teams of every agency she's worked in – advocating for greater industry access for underrepresented groups and promoting inclusive workplace practices.
Her commitment to social impact began at 14, volunteering at a Cancer Research UK shop after losing a family member to cancer. Since then, she has continued to volunteer alongside studies and work, supporting causes related to homelessness, food waste, refugee support, English teaching and youth work.
For Astrid, joining On Purpose represents an exciting opportunity to gain fast-tracked experience in the third sector, hands on coaching and exposure to a broader network of people to equip her in better understanding what her next chapter of work might look like.
