Camile Oliveira

Camile Oliveira

Camile is a policy professional with experience in research, advocacy and policy influencing within the voluntary and community sector. Her career has covered academic research on the civil war in Uganda, analysis of Indigenous education policy, an MPhil degree in Gender Studies, and, most recently, advocacy at the intersection of climate change and health. Although varied, these experiences are connected by a consistent thread: a deep commitment to contributing to a more just and equitable society.

Camile led the policy workstream at the Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change, where she developed organisational strategy, built cross-sector partnerships and strengthened policy impact.  Camile brings project management, strategy development, and stakeholder engagement skills to her placements, and the passion to create more equitable systems that drive systemic change.

Through On Purpose, Camile hopes to broaden her skill set, gain exposure to different models of impact, and understand how change can be created beyond traditional policy roles. In her spare time, Camile enjoys running, playing tennis and teaching her puppy how to be calm (largely unsuccessfully).

Camile holds a BA in International Relations from the University of British Columbia (Canada), and a MPhil in Multidisciplinary Gender Studies from the University of Cambridge (UK).
