Carly Wickham
Carly is a Co-Founder of ‘The Giving Department’, a philanthropy consultancy established in 2010 that has so far stewarded ‘investments’ into charities of over £350m. She is also Vice-Chair of the Trustee Board for the charity School Home Support, and on the Credit Committee for Innovate UK Loans.
Carly is operational lead at Challenge Works, A Nesta Enterprise. Their Challenge Prize methodology is designed to unearth innovators from diverse backgrounds to solve wicked problems e.g. microbial resistance / water sustainability / living with dementia.
Previously, Carly served as part of the senior leadership team managing the £2.4bn Personal Insurance portfolio at Aviva. The team led on operational efficiencies and digital transformations that resulted in the portfolio returning to profit.
Carly began her professional career in London, with over a decade of communications and marketing experience, working on famous brands such as ITV and PlayStation. She went on to teach Chartered Institute of Marketing courses and advise Google on their digital marketing qualifications.
