Matthew Warren
Prior to On Purpose, Matthew worked as a cross-functional strategy and operations professional with 10 years of experience spanning engineering, supply chain, finance, and human resources across international and emerging markets. This unconventional career path equipped him with a versatile toolkit to connect ideas with execution, people with purpose, and data with decisions. During this time, he helped lead large-scale organisational change, built and scaled processes from the ground up, and worked closely with teams to understand and improve how they operate. Along the way, he became increasingly drawn to the deeper question of what businesses are ultimately building and who they are serving.
In 2023, Matthew took an intentional step away from corporate life to spend time with family, invest in community, and reflect on the direction of his work. This period marked an important shift in perspective, shaping a growing conviction that business holds immense potential as a force for social, cultural, and environmental renewal when guided by integrity and a long-term, purpose-led vision.
Matthew is now keen to root himself in mission-oriented enterprises, particularly those seeking to move beyond extractive models of value creation toward more regenerative – or even redemptive – approaches and to steward capital in ways that support both resilience and meaningful impact.
Having grown up across different cultures, Matthew brings a global outlook and an appreciation for both the opportunities and inequalities that shape societies. He is motivated by the belief that what we build next truly matters. The organisations and economies we shape today will influence the kind of world the next generation inherits.
Outside of work, Matthew enjoys travelling, reading, and building communities. He is often found hosting conversations over meals, bringing people together, or simply enjoying time with family.
