Roger Singaraj

Born in Sri Lanka and raised in Sicily, Roger moved to London at 14, an experience that inspires his work in social impact.

He completed an MEng in Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London, before beginning his career in investment banking at Barclays, contributing to landmark transactions including the first-ever euro-denominated covered bond issuance from Iceland.

The pandemic prompted a deliberate pivot, travelling across Europe, Egypt and SE Asia spending time teaching English and volunteering.

He has since worked in social enterprises like Zen Educate, where he partnered with schools across South East London to address the growing crisis in SEND staffing. He recently worked as a Programme Coordinator at upReach, coaching university students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds into professional careers while managing employer partnerships. Throughout his life, he has volunteered for organisations in the social mobility and international development space.

He speaks English, Italian and Tamil and holds a NCTJ in Multimedia Journalism.

A lifelong learner and hobby collector, he currently trains as an actor and dancer. In his spare time, he enjoys the theatre and cinema, attending live gigs and exploring London's bookshops.
