Sumanyu Sharma

Before joining On Purpose, Sumanyu worked across investment, consulting, and venture-building roles in global health and impact finance. Most recently, he supported the World Health Organization Foundation’s Impact Investment team, helping design funds and fund-of-fund vehicles focused on women’s health, mental health, and climate-linked health outcomes across Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

He previously worked with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), conducting financial analysis and due diligence for healthcare investments expanding oncology and non-communicable disease care in Africa. Earlier, at Social Alpha, a Tata Trusts-backed early-stage investor, he led the Health & Wellness investment platform, sourcing and managing deep-tech ventures in diagnostics, med-tech, and digital health. His work has spanned partnerships with organizations such as UNAIDS and the Indian Department of Science and Technology.

Sumanyu began his career in Healthcare at Home, contributing to its fundraising and M&A efforts during its early scale-up phase. He later joined strategy consulting at Redseer.

He holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge (Judge Business School) and a B.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from IIT Roorkee. Outside of work, he enjoys mountain trekking, exploring innovation ecosystems, and mentoring young professionals pursuing careers in impact and healthcare investing.
