HCT Group

HCT Group is a social enterprise bus company formed in 1982 when local community groups in Hackney combined their vehicle resources. Since then we’ve grown, diversified and expanded from minibuses into commercial services (London Red Bus, school transport) but never away from our core mission: to promote community cohesion and reduce social exclusion by providing safe, accessible, affordable community transport services. We provide minibuses, scooters, community buses, SEN transport, travel training and education programmes. Since 2010, we’ve operated 1.77 million passenger trips to community groups or disadvantaged individuals helping them access local facilities, visit family and friends, undertake employment, training and education, improve their physical and mental health and be active members of their community. HCT is a long-established organisation, and one of the most important and influential in the socent sector. We have just received £10M in funding, the largest social investment deal ever, and we are being bold and ambitious in our growth plans. Previous placement projects have included developing our social impact measurement report, a project on organisation values, implementing the social impact theory of change and intranet design and roll out.
