Rupert Simons

Rupert is Chief Executive of Publish What You Fund, a global campaign for aid transparency. The two main themes of Rupert’s career are management consulting and international development. He spent five years as a consultant with McKinsey & Co, supporting a variety of strategy and organisational projects in the logistics, healthcare and agricultural sectors. He then spent four years working as a government advisor and team leader on development projects. He was Country Head for the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative in Liberia, helped set up Ethiopia's Agricultural Transformation Agency and the National Ebola Response Centre in Sierra Leone. Since 2015 Rupert has led Publish What You Fund, which campaigns for better data and accountability in aid and development. He is motivated by a desire to make the aid system more effective and responsive to its clients.
