Ruth Stokes
Ruth has worked and volunteered in the charity sector for the past four years, as a fundraiser and project manager. At Amnesty International UK she reviewed fundraising compliance, embedding new ways of working and helping shift departmental culture. From 2014-17 she was a trustee of Bail for Immigration Detainees, where she developed a new strategy to diversify income streams, with strong early results. Ruth studied Politics and Sociology at the University of Warwick, where she wrote her dissertation on the UK citizenship test, sparking a passionate interest in migration and refugee issues. After three months travelling in South America, she is joining the On Purpose programme to explore new career paths and learn more about alternative models for doing good.
