Fellow spotlight: with Aurelie Faugier

It’s been ten years since my On Purpose Associate year - and what a journey it’s been! After graduation, I thought I had found my dream job working in a London based social business accelerator, blending international development and entrepreneurship. Two years later, I packed my bags for Uganda for another “dream job”, leading a social enterprise empowering rural women through passion fruit farming. And then came a third dream: two years as a digital nomad, consulting for NGOs and social businesses from what felt like a never-ending summer between South America and Europe.

Looking back, I realise there isn’t one dream job; or perhaps every job in this sector can be one for a while. Most likely you'll get to learn something new, meet inspiring people, and hopefully have a positive impact on people and planet! Becoming an Associate 10 years ago was one of my best decisions, and I am so grateful for the incredible leap-takers (now friends) who joined me in that adventure!

Today, I am about to join the Global Cooksafe Coalition, advocating for energy transition in kitchens, switching from gas to greener, safer and healthier electric cooking. I will be working with chefs, developers and nonprofits. Alongside, I’m exploring how to support others through their own career transitions.

If you’d like to chat about anything from women’s empowerment to energy transition - or navigating the in-between - I’d love to hear from you.
