Transforming organisations with Leah Annett

My Fellow journey looked a little different from others in my cohort - I quite literally lifted the curtain and joined the core team at On Purpose London in April 2023.

Having spent most of my career in large, profit-driven organisations, stepping into On Purpose was a real eye-opener. A small but mighty social enterprise, it’s full of systems thinkers who are curious about doing business differently. Increasingly, that curiosity is translating into how we work collaboratively across cities - strengthening our ability to navigate disruption and build a more resilient, coherent model.

Alongside the day-to-day running of the organisation, my work as Co-Lead has focused on placement recruitment and partnerships - helping clarify how we can add the most value, and shaping Associate missions that align impact with organisational need. Over the past year, I’ve supported a growing number of first-time placement hosts across culture, climate, finance and systems change, enabling them to launch new initiatives, drive policy change, and strengthen the processes and practices that support their mission.

I’m constantly inspired by the people we recruit - not only our Fellowship, now over 1,000 strong internationally, but also the trainers, mentors and coaches who support our Associates pro bono because they believe in our mission.
