A Podcast Series. Easy right? Everyone is doing them....

Well nearly 8 months after our initial planning workshop, led by my fellow On Purpose Associates, Emma Kemp, Maddy Willson and Rhea Patel, we are excited to release the latest series of 'A Moment of Change': a podcast that features thought-provoking conversations with key figures at the forefront of driving systemic change.
Firstly, the On Purpose Associate Programme is a 12-month leadership programme where Associates are focused on tackling the greatest challenge of our time: transforming our economy from profit to purpose.
On Purpose's 'A Moment of Change' Podcast is now in its 5th series, and it’s more than just a podcast: it’s very much a challenging yet inspiring experience of change in itself for its creators. Curated by current On Purpose Associates, the Podcast provides an opportunity for us to explore topics or interests outside of our day-to-day work with our placements. And to launch our series, 'Creativity for Action', I am sharing what it has been like to work on ‘A Moment of Change’ behind the scenes - without revealing too much detail on the episodes that will be released over the coming weeks and months!
So creating a Podcast? So many questions. And this was the focus of our initial workshop in January. What are we interested in exploring? What will people be interested in listening to? What are the important and topical issues in the social and environmental impact space that need coverage and focus? After debating multiple potential topics for the series, there was a strong preference to focus on Creativity. We had explored Creativity in different ways during our weekly training, whether this was practicing improvisation or imagining the future (An episode spoiler alert for those who know!!). For some this was a comfortable space, whilst for others it was a welcome stretch, perhaps coming from environments pre On Purpose where creativity was lacking or even discouraged. That was how this podcast on Creativity started - as a collaborative creative process among a group of friends with different creative experiences.
Then, the next question: What are the required roles to design, produce and publish a Podcast? In the On Purpose spirit of collaboration and co-creation, we explored the skills and experience across the team, and matched that with the activities needed to produce a podcast. This ranged from designing and scripting an episode, to identifying and contacting our fantastic guests, through to hosting or editing the podcasts. Everyone has had the opportunity to get involved in something different and learn a new skill (how do you edit a Podcast??), and most importantly, to have fun in the process! We worked through challenges or changes in direction as a team. There have been set-backs, some unexpected and some unavoidable (technology, anyone?). But to be releasing 5 very distinct, interesting and engaging episodes that consider Creativity in different ways is an outcome we are all proud of.
The October 2024 On Purpose cohort is about to finish the programme (on Friday 12th September), so releasing the Podcast feels timely and a rewarding way to mark this career and life milestone. It serves as a celebration of our friendship, too! All of our cohort have been involved in some way, be that a discussion or contribution of an idea at some stage in the process through to hosting our episodes. We look forward to seeing and hearing Series 6 at some point in 2026/27.
Thank you to our guests. For contributing your time and your own individual message of how you are contributing to change with creativity. Thank you to the October 2024 and April 2025 Associates who have contributed along the way. Thank you to Josie Lumley from the On Purpose core team for all of your work on the designs and launch. And to our listeners - we hope you enjoy and are maybe inspired by one of the messages from our guests.
Let’s tune into our creativity now!
Tuesday 9 September. A Moment of Change. Series 5. Episode 1. Coming to all popular Podcast platforms.
